**In addition, five (5) terms of Company Ensemble and one (1) term of production practicum must be completed. Students will earn one (1) credit for each term of Ensemble work. These credits do not count toward the 120 credits required for graduation, and students are not charged tuition for these credits.

REQUIREMENTS FOR B.A. IN DANCE WITH PERFORMANCE CONCENTRATION

Students must attain a technical level of Ballet III before making formal application in the winter term of the sophomore year. A total of 11 Company Ensemble credits (5 additional terms) and 18 credits in a combination of the following are required: Pointe and Variations, Men's Technique, Modern II, Jazz, Tap, Musical Theatre Dance, Dance Conditioning, Pas de Deux and/or Performance Internship/co-op(s) totaling 69 credits for the B.A. in Dance with a Performance Concentration.

REQUIREMENTS FOR B.A. IN DANCE WITH APPLIED THEORY CONCENTRATION

This concentration offers tracks in Pedagogy and Choreography. Formal application is required after completing Choreography I and Pedagogy. A total of 18 additional credits are required as follows:

  • Choreography II
  • Introduction to Arts Administration
  • 8 Company Ensemble credits (3 additional terms)
  • 3 additional credits in a combination of the following 1 credit courses: Modern II, Tap II, Jazz II, and/or Musical Theatre Dance

Choreography Track

  • Choreography III
  • 6 credits in a combination of the following:
    • Introduction to Labanotation
    • Introduction to Stage Productions
    • Music Appreciation
    • Senior Seminar (Choreography IV project)

Pedagogy Track

  • Pedagogy II
  • 6 credits in a combination of the following:
    • Introduction to Labanotation
    • Introduction to Stage Productions
    • Music Appreciation
    • Personal Nutrition
    • Internship/co-op

ARTS ADMINISTRATION MINOR

All Dance majors are encouraged to consider completing the Arts Administration Minor program.

  • Introduction to Arts Administration - 3 credits.
  • Principles of Management - 3 credits.
  • Principles of Marketing - 3 credits.
  • Principles of Accounting 1 - 3 credits.
  • Principles of Public Relations - 3 credits.
  • Advertising and Promotion - 3 credits.
