Bachelor of Dance

This program is intended for the student who wishes to pursue a rigorous degree program of combined general and dance studies. Emphasis is placed on the development of transferable skills that will support transitions inside or outside the dance field.

Bachelor of Dance in Performance

This concentration emphasizes a pre-professional level of study with expanded offerings in movement and performance curriculum aimed at developing a sound and versatile dance professional.

Requirements for a B.A. in Dance with Performance Concentration

Students must attain a technical level of Ballet III before making formal application in the winter term of the sophomore year. A total of 6 Company Ensemble credits (3 additional terms) and 9 credits in a combination of the following are requires: Pointe and Variations, Men’s Technique, Tap, Musical Theatre Dance, Pas de Deux and/or Performance Internship/Co-op(s) totaling 66 credits for a B.A. in Dance with a Performance Concentration.

Bachelor of Dance in Applied Theory

This area of study prepares the student in one of two tracks of study--Pedagogy or Choreography--each of which are detailed below.

Requirements for a B.A. in Dance with Applied Theory Concentration

This concentration offers tracks in Pedagogy and Choreography. Formal application is required after completing Choreography I and Pedagogy. A total of 12 additional credits are required as follows:

Arts Administration Minor

This minor is comprised of arts administration, business and communications courses that support the not-for-profit sector of business in the arts.
